HOW DO I LOOK? HALINA ASHDOWN SHEILS, MANAGING DIRECTOR OF ADVANCED COSMETIC SURGERY

HOW I dress is really important. Advanced Cosmetic Surgery is in the image business and I believe dressing well is a major part of looking well. During the day I am the owner of a successful business and I like to wear suits that reflect that. By night I let my personality take over my wardrobe and I dress to match the extrovert that I am.

My style massively varies depending on what I'm doing and where I'm going.

By day it's smart business attire but by night if I'm going out its zany and funky.

At weekends I tend to live in jeans. I have always loved fashion. In the '60s, anyone who was anyone was one of two things . . . a mod or a rocker. I was a mod and the first major item of clothing I bought was a peach fulllength leather coat. It cost me two full weeks wages . . . I even had to hitch-hike to work so I could pay for it!

When Vivienne Westwood broke on the scene with the Sex Pistols I was immediately smitten by her style. One of my dreams is actually to meet her. I am not a size 8 so I sometimes struggle to fit into designer brands . . . but with Vivienne, it's worth the effort. I have a pair of her platform shoes . . .

I've been wearing them for years. I love them because not only are they very stylish but they also make me look taller and slimmer.

What more could a girl ask from her favourite item in her wardrobe? Her clothes are my luxury in life.

First impressions are important. People may subsequently change their minds . . . but they will always remember their initial opinion. I want to look good for myself but I also want to allow my style and my age to represent me. I'm in my 50s and a size 14 and I'm comfortable with that. I have had some work done, a face lift, breast augmentation and I have regular cosmetic treatments in our day clinic but I don't believe I need to go any further . . . today anyway. Maybe tomorrow I'll change my mind!
