Prada's little sister. I got these the other week for my niece's first birthday party.

My trousers are by Yves Saint Laurent and I got those in Italy. It does help when you buy the good stuff.

In addition to working for La Perla, I also design my own range of lingerie and clothes. I love silks and furs.

My brothers and sisters were always well-dressed as children but my parents weren't very wealthy. We always had nice clothes for special occasions; fancy tights and good underwear.

I suppose that's where my fascination for underwear began.

My style is kind of vintage boudoir meets Alice in Wonderland. I have a lot of vintage pieces that I have both bought and inherited. I actually have this outfit from when I was three; a crotchet vest and briefs which my mum bought in Spain and kept for me. She used to make a point of buying handmade stuff for us. I had it on display at my lingerie stall in Cows Lane market and people would often come up and admire it.

My mum used to buy me gorgeous dresses when I was growing up and they always had big bows on the front and she would put matching bows in my hair.

I love clothes. I prefer to buy designer pieces because the cheaper, high street stuff doesn't last . . . it just falls apart, so it's a false economy. When I buy something I will wear it for years and years. I spend a lot on pieces but I don't go shopping all the time.

I think that even if you are dressed casually, you should look groomed. You have to eat properly because if you don't it's going to reflect in your body. After that you need to be careful of your underwear because if you are wearing a beautiful silk dress but you have underwear that's not supporting you or a pair of big elastic pants, then it is going to ruin the look of the outfit.
