.DUBLIN ISEQ 7486.22 Up 1.66% on week The Iseq hit a 52-week high of 7499 during Friday's trading before dropping back slightly to close at 7486.22. Twenty one stocks rose, twenty fell while 12 were unchanged.
The main movers were Bank of Ireland, up 14c to 13.82, Ryanair up 7c to 8.10 and AIB up 4c to 18.45.
.LONDON FTSE 100 5731.80 Up 2% on week The FTSE 100 climbed 0.7% on Friday to close at 5731.8 in London, marking a four-anda-half year high for the index.
BP, Europe's largest oil company, gained 1.3% to 642.5p. Shell, Europe's second-largest oil company, gained 1.04% to 1,848p.
Vodafone jumped 4.5p, or 3.5%, to 132.5p. The shares have slumped 13% since reaching a three-month high on 8 November.
.EUROPE Euro Stoxx 50 3434.42 Up 2.6% on week European stocks headed for their biggest weekly gain in two months last Friday as markets got off to a great start to 2006. Technology shares including Cap Gemini and In"neon Technologies led the advance amid expectations an increase in spending will help earnings.
.NEW YORK DOW 10,959, up 2.26% on wk Nasdaq 2305.62, up 4.5% on wk S&P 500 1285.45, up 2.98% on wk US stocks resumed a New Year's rally, pushing prices to the highest levels since 2001, after a report on December job growth suggested the economy can sustain an expansion.
"The advance gave the S&P's 500 Index, Nasdaq Composite Index and Dow Jones Industrial Average their best annual starts in three years.
Best Buy Co. , the largest electronics retailer, led Friday's gain after sales growth last month boosted quarterly earnings to the top of its forecast. Yahoo! and Google climbed as Goldman Sachs increased share price estimates.
The S&P 500 added 11.97, or 0.9% on Friday.
