Shannon vigil for those killed in Iraq



A VIGIL took place in Shannon Airport yesterday in memory of those killed in Iraq. The event, organised by Na Cosantoiri Siochana, also commemorated the three-year anniversary of the peace camp set up in Shannon.

Spokesperson Joe Sheehan said the group wanted an end to the use of Shannon Airport by the US military.

Meanwhile, Dublin FF MEP Eoin Ryan yesterday reiterated his demand for greater US transparency on the use of Shannon.
