AIL DIVISION ONE DUBLIN UNIVERSITY 14 BELFAST HARLEQUINS 41 College Park
DUBLIN UNIVERSITY had not played in the AIB League since November. It showed.
They were no match for Belfast Harlequins at College Park yesterday.
The contest was put to bed in a six-minute spell early in the second half when Rob Devonshire dived in, Jonny Lowe intercepted Brian Kinsella from inside his own 22 and the wily player-coach Andy Ward grounded the ball in the 53rd minute.
It had the effect of turning a 13-0 half-time lead into a mountainous 34-point gap between the sides. Trinity had late consolations from replacement Paul DoranJones and captain Matt Crockett, sandwiching Ward's second from close range.
Harlequins maintain their momentum for a top-four finish in impressive fashion with Glancy pulling the strings to maximum effect behind a belligerent set of forwards.
