Fiennes' thing

The Taylors' attempt to travel the world with the least amount of fuel possible. . .

Looks mathematically like it might fail . . . 29,000km in 70 days filling the tank less than 50 times . . . but they have looked at it carefully.

The Taylors are the best people to have a go. In 16 years they have already had 34 world records at fuel-efficient driving.

If I wasn't talking to you right now I'd be. . .

Planning an expedition which is ongoing at home on Exmoor.

A phrase I use far too often is. . .

"God gave us one mouth and two ears. Try to remember to listen longer than you yatter."

It's not so much of a phrase as a dictum.

I wish people would take more notice of. . .

'Don't leave litter in the park' signs on Exmoor.

A common misperception of me is. . .

I'm often muddled up with my cousin, the actor Ralph Fiennes.

I'm not a politician but. . .

I wouldn't be seen dead being a politician.

I'd hate the idea. Whatever the media decides when it decides to target them they don't stand a chance.

I'm very bad at. . .

Remembering things.

I need to write everything down and tie a knot in my handkerchief.

You know me as an explorer, but in a truer life I'd have been a. . .

Successful book writer. I'd write things like Tolkien and Mervyn Peake.
