RIGHT, it's the end of the middle of January and even the sides of the sofa are bereft of coins. Whatever clever budgeting might have been put in place will, in most cases, have been exhausted by now and so it's time to think laterally.
Thankfully, beauty doesn't have to come with a price tag, and there are a number of ways to cheat yourself pretty by using some handy bits around the house, or investing minimum funds for maximum return.
Obviously, in January, bad hair days become commonplace. It's been a while since anyone has seen a salon and it's probably beginning to show. For a quick fix to zebra-style roots, try coating the lighter re-growth with waterproof mascara (black or brown).
Just brush along the T-bar . . .across the front and along the parting . . . and the hairline should blend a little better with the rest. For blondes that have gone a bit brassy, tomato ketchup after shampooing is the solution. Apply liberal dollops and leave in for about 10 minutes before rinsing thoroughly.
For bodies that need TLC without the price tag, remember the cellulitetackling benefits of dry body brushing . . . upwards and towards the heart . . . before hopping in to the bath or shower. It's also massively invigorating in the morning and a healthier way to wake up than a double espresso.
And one of most effective, but natural DIY beauty blends is sea salt mixed in olive oil. It's a fantastic yet inexpensive exfoliant.
