THE TV moment of the year on this side of the water had to be the scolding dished out to author James Frey by Oprah Winfrey. Lest we forget, Oprah made Frey a millionaire by picking his rehab 'memoir' A Million Little Pieces for her massively popular book club last October . . . then, when his penchant for embellishing the truth was rumbled, she even publicly defended him.
Oprah was merely biding her time, however, until she could give Frey the bollocking of his life in front of her home crowd.
The author sat there like the scolded child he was, holding back the tears as Winfrey eviscerated him. It wasn't pretty, but it was pretty hilarious.
