Last call for houses by the sea in Lusk

THE LAST 40 houses at the popular Lusk Village development in North Co Dublin have just been released by McGarrell Reilly Homes.

Since the scheme's first launch about two years ago, more than 500 homes have sold, clocking up sales figures of 140m.

With a wide choice of three and four-beds available, Lusk Village has been a favourite with young families looking for good-sized homes with gardens within reasonable commuting distance of Dublin.

Lusk is something of an old-world village with a historic castle at its centre, along with an old countrystyle church and graveyard, and several small shops and businesses.

A short drive from the seaside villages of Rush, Skerries and Malahide, Lusk is is about 13 miles from Dublin, just 15 minutes drive from Dublin Airport, and has a train service to Dublin city centre, the journey taking 30 minutes. Swords is less than 10 minutes drive away.

Designed by Conroy Crowe Kelly Architects, this scheme takes a traditional tack, the aim being to be a new village within an old village. Laid out in landscaped squares, the houses reflect the 19th century village plans, where neat terraces were built facing onto a green.

From the outside, these homes have some lovely oldworld features, including arched trellising over the garden gates and timberporches typical of 19th century village houses. Inside, they are stylish and contemporary.

The well landscaped site also includes walkways and cycle paths, while a special ring road has been created around the scheme to minimise traffic flow.

There are 10 different house styles, with various lay-out designs. Three- and four-beds all come in midterrace, end-of-terrace, and detached forms.

In this final phase, threebed houses range in size from 93 to 104sq m (1000 to 1120sq ft), while four-beds vary from 116 to 125sq m (1250 to 1345sq ft).

Some houses have two reception rooms, and an open-plan kitchen/dining room, while other homes have one large living room, and a large kitchen-cumdining room.

All homes include pine windows, fitted Alno kitchens, natural gas central heating and cherrywood wardrobes.

Agent: Sherry FitzGerald New Homes, 01-667 1888 Price: Three- and four-bed houses with gardens from 349,995 to 465,000
