WIN 5,000 IN CELEBRITY TRADING CHALLENGE

WOULD-BE Warren Buffets and Gordon Gekkos take note. The Sunday Tribune/Delta Index Celebrity Trading Challenge, with a cash prize of 5,000 on offer to the best investor, gets under way in just two weeks.

Register for the competition and, with a notional 10,000 to invest, you'll have eight weeks to put your money to work, out-perform the other budding masters of the universe and scoop the 5,000.

To help you along the way we've lined up a crack team of celebrity traders, including former Irish soccer international Niall Quinn, property developer Sean Dunne, Sunway Travel managing director Tanya Airey and the Sunday Tribune's own Ross O'Carroll Kelly.

The celebrity traders will start dealing in stocks, bonds and international currencies on Delta Index's trading simulator on 28 February, attempting to stay one step ahead of the market and turn your 10,000 stake into multimillion euro fortunes.

Each celebrity has his or her own distinct investment strategy. Estate agent Ken MacDonald, for example, favours a low-risk strategy involving blue-chip Irish stocks. Investors who are willing to put their faith inCastlerock rugby legend Ross O'Carroll Kelly, however, should know that he plans a high-risk strategy, taking short positions in "overvalued companies" that he hopes will fall, generating big returns for his backers in the process.

Entrants who harbour genuine hopes of winning the 5,000 will need to peruse the strategies carefully on the Delta Index website to decide how much of their 10,000 to invest with whom.

In order to win, you'll need to find the best balance of risk and potential return, and time your trading to perfection.

You can divide your 10,000 any way you choose, and switch your funds between investors as often as you like during the competition.

To register, or for further details on the Celebrity Trading Challenge, go to the Sunday Tribune website at www. tribune. ie or check out www. deltaindex. com.
