I GREW up in the public eye with my dad and my mother [Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie and his wife Jo] so I suppose I've got used to being looked at. But it can still be quite weird when you're flicking through Glamour or Cosmo and you see a picture of yourself next to Sienna Miller or Gwyneth Paltrow.
I was looking at one of those "What to wear this month" pages the other day and there was this girl wearing a red and grey stripy jumper. I thought, "That's nice, " then I was like, "Oh my God, it's me!"
I've always been interested in fashion . . . I used to dress up in princess dresses, put on plays and dance around. I like to experiment with my looks. Life is too short to just sit back and let things happen . . . you have to take action and be creative with what you wear and how you look.
My mum and dad are my biggest style icons, especially during the '70s and early '80s. Mum was a rock chick, a mother, a housewife . . . just everything. She taught me about make-up, clothes, cooking a pasta dish and just showing me the ways of the world.
I wouldn't mind being a style icon. It would be quite flattering if people went out and bought something in Top Shop because they wanted to copy what I was wearing. At the moment I'm doing the whole chic, sophisticated look . . . heels and lots of black. I recently bought an all-in-one black catsuit . . . you can wear it with a short dress, heels and a belt. It's relaxed and you're not showing too much skin.
I feel most free when I'm on stage singing, and I can just be myself. Singing is such a personal thing because you can't disguise yourself. You can't go on stage and be something that you're not, because people would see through you. It's a far more honest way of expressing yourself than modelling is. I've just got to go out there and express myself.
