CHRIS Andrews hasn't taken long to get the word out in Dublin South East that he's the newly-selected Fianna Fail candidate in the constituency.
In a new publicity leaflet, Andrews reminds potential voters that he "comes from a family steeped in public service". So there's a mention of Todd Andrews, his grandfather, David Andrews, his uncle, and Niall Andrews, his father.
But the only relation actually pictured in the leaflet is his cousin Ryan Tubridy.
One wonders what Michael McDowell thinks about this subliminal endorsement given his recent warning about an "unacceptable doctrine that state broadcasters might be completely free to campaign on issues chosen personally and subjectively by those in the employ of the broadcaster as representing their own ideological or political priorities".
