NHL DIVISION 3B TYRONE 2-22 CAVAN 0-6 Carrickmore
TYRONE hit top form with a high-scoring NHL Division 3B win over Cavan at Carrickmore. It was the Red Hands' first success in the series.
It was David Lavery who danced through for a delightful solo goal in the 31st minute, as the Red Hands built up a 1-14 to 0-3 interval lead.
The Breffni men did stage a minor revival with points from Ronan O'Hagan and Rory O'Hanlon, but normal service was soon resumed, and the home side staged another sustained bombardment.
Paul Lavery steered over a string of frees, and there were scores from Cathal McErlean, Cathal O'Neill and substitutes Niall McDermott and Peter o'Connor. McDermott completed the rout when he scrambled home a second goal in the final minute.
