Last week we highlighted the case of Scott Fava who was dropped from the Western Force team for turning up to training under the influence of alcohol. Well, they've been guilty of sipping a few sherries again this week in the Super 14 and this time Wendell Sailor is the culprit.
The Waratahs' wing has found himself in trouble for getting into a bit of an altercation outside a Cape Town night club the night before his side's game against the Stormers, a fixture he was set to miss through injury.
"Inappropriate behaviour while intoxicated, " was the charge levelled against him by the New South Wales Rugby Union and a disciplinary committee imposed a one-match ban and a fine on the player. The ARU have now taken up the matter and may impose a heavier sanction on Sailor but it's interesting to note that Leinster bound Chris Whitaker was one of two player representatives on that disciplinary committee who handed down the ban.
His new teammates just might want to stay on his good side if they want to stay out of trouble next season.
