New homes for plane-spotters and families
June Edwards

BRAND new to the market this weekend is Mayeston Hall in Dublin 11, the 150m residential development being built by Barina Construction.

On St Margaret's Road close to Dublin Airport, Mayeston Hall is an attractive development which is expected to draw quite a bit of interest from home-hunters, particularly first-time buyers or families looking for good-sized houses at relatively affordable prices.

Apartments start at 205,000 and large four-bed houses are priced from 405,000.

Just off the M50 and less than six miles from Dublin city centre, St Margaret's is within a few minutes drive of the villages of Finglas, Glasnevin and Ballymun, while Dublin Airport is only five minutes away. The development is close to the new Charlestown shopping centre and will be accessible to the proposed metro line from the city centre to Dublin Airport.

There is a good mix of onebed, two-bed, three-bed and four-bed homes, so this development should appeal to a range of singles, couples and families. Apartment buildings and townhouses in this low-rise modern scheme are finished in a blend of redbrick and render.

A tree-lined avenue is set at the entrance and the landscaped grounds will incorporate a 10,000 sq m park, along with a play area for children.

Courtyards will be planted with a mixture of shrubs and trees, and bus and cycle lanes are planned for the development.

On offer in this first phase are 30 houses and 60 apartments. One-beds have a floor area of 44 sq m (473sq ft), while two-beds range in size from 68 to 85 sq m (730 to 910 sq ft). Three-bed apartments vary in size from 91 to 109 sq m (979 to 1170 sq ft), while three-bed duplexes are even larger.

A good range of houses is also on offer here, with twobed townhouses of 75 sq m (810 sq ft), and three-bed houses ranging in size from 99 to 103 sq m(1065 to 1110 sq ft). Four-bed houses, which include a study, range in size from 140 to 143 sq m (1510 to 1545 sq ft).

Building work started last summer, and many of the homes are nearing completion.

Standard features in all units include lift access and underground parking for apartments, front and rear gardens with the houses, fitted kitchens, wall tiling in kitchens and bathrooms, and Newport-style internal doors.

Price: one-beds from 205,000, two-beds from 250,000, three-bed apartments and duplexes from 330,000, three-bed houses from 355,000 and four-bed houses from 405,000.
