Poultry sales fall by 20% over bird "u



POULTRY sales in Ireland fell by 20% last week amid concerns about bird flu.

However, free-range producers are reporting an increase in business.

Organic producers are currently awaiting an EU decision on a request from the government to allow birds to be kept indoors for longer than the current 12week maximum without losing their free-range status.

Bird flu has been confirmed in more than 30 countries
