LEINSTER UNDER-21 FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP QUARTER-FINAL LOUTH 0-9 LAOIS 1-11 Dundalk COLM KELLY'S controversial first-half penalty proved the difference as Laois overcame Louth in Dundalk yesterday. The Stradbally star beat goalkeeper Neil Gallagher on 14 minutes after Donal Brennan was adjudged to have been fouled in the area and that score saw the visitors lead by 1-5 to 0-4 at the interval. Despite cutting the deficit to two points on two separate occasions, Louth couldn't find a goal.
John O'Brien went closest for Eamonn McEneaney's men late on but a trio of scores from man-of-thematch Brennan ensured it was the visitors who advanced to the semi-finals.
