Gas Bill

If I wasn't talking to you now right now I'd be. . .

Probably doing something obsessive like checking emails or pottering around the garden.

A phrase I use far too often is. . .

Er, I don't know. It's a bit of a default setting.

I wish people would take more notice of. . .

Litter and spelling. Putting an 'a' in definitely bothers me. I really get annoyed. I let a cup of tea go cold worrying about it. That's criminal . . . it could have been the one in four cups that was a really nice one.

The most surprising thing that happened to me. . .

I became successful. I don't get surprised; I am mildly amused.

A common misperception of me is. . .

That for some reason or other I am connected with Hawkwind. People think I was in Hawkwind. The more you deny it, the more people take it as confirmation. Now I just admit to it. You can't win.

I'm not a politician but. . .

I'd impose on-the-spot fines for bad grammar.

The ideal night out is. . .

A walk along the beach in Indonesia at sunset, then a delicious bit of fish.

In moments of weakness. . .

I eat Mini-Eggs.

In another life I'd have been a. . .

Lounge pianist. I play every day for an hour or so. I could go back to it if all else fails.

My philosophy is. . .

Don't get your hopes up.

Embrace disappointment.

That way you'll never be let down.
