The Dublin Film Festival showed From Dawn To Dusk, which had rocketed to the top of the US boxoffice charts. Written by Quentin Tarantino, the film starred Harvey Keitel, George Clooney and Juliette Lewis. The festival opened with Twelve Monkeys.

About referee Jim McGillvay showing Partick player Rod McDonald a yellow card during a Rangers match after making "an inflammatory gesture". McDonald had blessed himself.
