THOSE who managed to go the distance at this year's shockingly tedious Oscar ceremony may have noticed a recurring theme . . . in this DVD-driven age, there's still nothing quite like watching a movie on the big screen. We wholeheartedly agree, with one slight qualification . . . there's nothing like watching a CLASSIC movie on the big screen. Imagine our pleasure, then, when The Zeigfield . . . Manhattan's last great movie palace . . .announced that it was entirely devoting its programming to the classics of the silver screen.
Thus, in recent weeks we've joined packed houses for everything from The Godfather to the Indiana Jones trilogy . . . and fallen in love with the movies all over again. We're still trying to convince them to run The Delta Force.
