A LOT of people are put off investing in an overseas property because of the hard sell techniques used by some of the less scrupulous agencies who don't give buyers enough time or information to make a measured judgement before signing on the dotted line.
As a result, says businessman and investment advisor Barry Corrigan, people feel stressed and anxious as they are pressured into making a decision.
Corrigan, a regular commentator on overseas property investments and head of Diamond Properties, a sales and advisory business based in Bray, Co Wicklow, has just launched a series of lecture seminars which he is running in which he will outline the main pitfalls, as well as legal and taxation issues surrounding an overseas purchase.
The series starts next Saturday 25 March and Sunday 26 March in the Fitzwilliam Hotel, Dublin 2 and continues on Wednesday 29 March in the Radisson in Limerick.
