I LIKE to dress classically when I am working so I wear lots of 1940s/1950s-inspired pencil skirts with nipped-in jackets. Sometimes I might wear cropped trousers but no matter what, I will always be in heels. If I know I am going to have a hectic day I will compromise and wear a pair of low kitten heels.
We have a lot of evening events in the store so I often have to bring a complete change of clothes to work in the morning. I don't really believe in 'dressing-up' my office outfits because it's usually a lot easier just to bring in something totally different and a really good pair of heels. I have a great skirt by Sportmax that I roll out for such occasions; it's a cream pencil skirt but the hour-glass silhouette is accentuated and it is really feminine.
I dress differently at the weekend and the emphasis is on comfort. I wear jeans and flat shoes, little pumps and maybe a cashmere cardigan. I want to feel as comfortable as possible but not a million miles away from a smart outfit.
It's important to know what suits you and your shape. Well-structured and fitted clothing flatter my figure so I tend to stick to that formula. There are trends that I will inevitably edit out of my wardrobe; for example, I won't be wearing city-shorts or the "utility look" because I know that neither will suit me. I prefer a more feminine, softer silhouette so I'll stick to the pretty florals and tidy suits.
My biggest splurge to date has been a David Szeto dress that I bought for the launch party of Harvey Nichols. It's black and backless and partly embroidered with crystals.
It's really the most gorgeous dress and I try and wear it as often as I can.
My most treasured item is a silver charm bracelet that my Mum gave me which she wore when she was younger.
When she gave it to me she also gave me a silver stiletto to put on it, the perfect charm for me.
