DUBLIN software firm Accuris has secured 3m in funding from venture capital firm Atlantic Bridge Ventures to market a new product that helps telecom network operators to allow their customer switch between fixed and mobile phone networks using the same phone.
Accuris hopes to sell the product, called Accuroam, to network operators, primarily in North America. Having secured funding, the company, led by former Aldiscon executive Aidan Dillon, has just set up a sales office in Boston.
Accuris will use the fresh funds on promoting the new product. "We've already funded the product's research and development from our existing revenues. The money is to go to sales and marketing to promote the product, " said a spokeswoman for the company.
The spokeswoman said Accuris had just broken even on turnover of $5m ( 4.1m) and hoped to double its turnover in 2006 with the launch of Accuroam.
