THAT WAS THEN 2 April 1996. . .
Una Mullally

We were listening to. . .

Mark Morrison whose 'Return Of The Mack' number one made us all wonder where he was coming back from.

We were accessorising. . .

with mobile phones.

Although pre-paid credit was still to come, and text messaging hadn't even caught on, a mobile was the new accessory. For those who wanted to be more discreet, transparent pagers were the next best thing.

We were wearing. . .

Platform trainers. Inspired by the Spice Girls, skyscraper runners (especially in a snappy red, blue and white combo) were all the (regrettable) rage.

We were watching. . .

Toy Story, the first ever feature-length animation made entirely by computers.

We were playing. . .

Tomb Raider, the Playstation game that made Laura Croft a '90s icon, selling three million games, spawning four sequels and a movie that made Angelina Jolie famous.

We we reading. . .

Michael Hand's interview with Daniel O'Donnell in the Sunday Tribunemagazine: "I know there's a perception out there that I can do no wrong. But I think I'm like most people, normal and easy going. No big hang ups.

I have a wee temper at times and maybe curse a little, though I rarely get really angry."
