New Greystones estate landed on a fine fairway
June Edwards

THE LAST 40 units at Charlesland Park in Greystones, Co Wicklow, went on sale this weekend. A large residential development of 520 homes, Charlesland has sold well since its initial launch a few years ago. And with a good mix of apartments, duplexes and traditional semi-detached homes, this scheme caters for a broad range of buyers from young first-timers to families trading up.

Developed by Devondale and built by Brian M Durkan & Co, Charlesland is laid out on a site adjoining Charlesland Golf & Country Club.

On-site facilities at Charlesland are very good and include a Superquinn store, medical centre, creche, community centre, shops, offices, bar/restaurant, and a large Jackie Skelly Health & Fitness Centre, due to open shortly.

Nearby Greystones, just over a mile away, is a quaint harbour village which developed in the mid 19th century.

The village has a good range of shops and local facilities, and Bray town is less than 10 minutes drive away.

Charlesland is well served by Dublin Bus, while the Dart is accessible from Greystones, and the new link road to the N11 is almost complete.

Designed by Arthur Hickey of CCH architects, Charlesland has a good selection of two, three and fourbed apartments, duplexes and houses. Finished in a mix of redbrick and render, homes here have an attractive appearance, and the development is landscaped throughout.

On offer are two types of two-bed townhouses, both with a floor area of 80 sq m (860 sq ft), one with the kitchen/dining room to the front, and the other style with the kitchen/dining area to the rear. All houses come with landscaped back gardens and fitted shed. Also available are some three-bed townhouses ranging in size from 93 to 114sq m (1000 to 1227sq ft).

Two-bed apartments have an average floor area of 70 sq m (750 sq ft), while threebed duplexes are around 88 sq m (945 sq ft), and four-bed duplex homes have a floor area of 124sq m (1335 sq ft).

Price: two-bed apartments from 345,000, two-bed townhouses from 395,000, three-bed duplexes from 390,000, three-bed townhouses from 495,000 and four-bed duplexes from 455,000.

Agent: Hooke & MacDonald 016318402.

Price: two, three and four-bed apartments, townhouses and duplexes from 345,000 to 495,000 plus.

Agent: Hooke & MacDonald 016318402.

Viewing: 2.30pm to 4.30pm.
