Student apartments get full marks
June Edwards

A SMALL Section 50 development has come on the market in Galway city.

Comprising just 14 apartments, Gort Leinn is a purpose-built student accommodation scheme, which is aimed at investors.

On the Old Monivea Road in Ballybane, Gort Leinn will provide accommodation for students attending the Galway Mayo Institute of Technology, which is only five minutes walk away. Under the rules of the Section 50 scheme, investors must rent out apartments to students during the academic year, but can rent them to tourists during the holidays.

Fitted out to five-star standard, each apartment includes a kitchen with living/dining area, two bedrooms and bathrooms.

Ready to walk into, the apartments are completely fitted out down to the bedding.

Kitchens will be a mix of cream units with walnut worktops and include floor and wall tiling. All floors will be solid beech, and living areas come with leather suite of furniture.

The development will be fully landscaped and there will be a communal rooftop garden.

Price: two-bed Section 50 apartments from 290,000.

Agent: Silke & Finn Real Estate 091790974.
