THE Stan Moore-trained Don't Dili Dali was certainly not dilly-dallying in the intercasino. co. uk Masaka Stakes at Kempton yesterday as John Egan steered the 12-1 chance into the lead in the home straight to collar longterm leader Song Of Silence and claim the £15,898 prize.
The globe-trotting threeyear-old went on to master that rival by two lengths, with Nyarhini a neck away in third.
Trainer Stan Moore is in Portugal attending a stag weekend and this victory will give him even more cause to celebrate as it is his first listed success. Sarah Moore, his wife and assistant trainer, was clearly proud of her charge after the race.
"She is getting better and better as she is growing into herself. She has some fancy entries including the Italian Oaks and the Irish 1000 Guineas so there are quite a few options, " she said.
"She took a long tome to come to herself in Dubai and didn't travel there well and was only coming right there on her last start - she's a lot happier now she's home."
The Easter Stakes was the other big race on the card, and there was no doubt about the winner as Asset put in a dazzling display to demolish all rivals by an impressive four lengths.
Going off joint 6/4 favourite with Kingsgate Prince, it seemed that a head-to-head battle would ensue between the market leaders, but Richard Hannon's charge stormed away inside the final two furlongs under Robert Hughes to land the prize with impressive ease.
Eleven-times champion jockey Pat Eddery trained his first winner when saddling 9/1 shot Visionist to land the Play Blackjack At intercasino. co. uk Handicap Stakes under Darryll Holland.
The winner hit the front a furlong out and was never going to be caught thereafter, going on to deny Presumptive by two and a half lengths, with Binanti half a length adrift in third.
"That was very good, excellent, and it's never easy when you take up a new profession, " Eddery said. "This horse always had the potential and Jamie Osborne did a good job with him last year.
He won it quite nicely and travelled great. I am hopeful there is some more to come from him. I might have to step him up in class now as the handicapper won't be too lenient."
