Singing it softly

If I wasn't talking to you right now I'd be. . .Taking a nap before going on stage.

I wish people would take more notice of. . .The fact that we live in a democracy, and challenge dishonesty in government. I find what's happening now to be the height of arrogance. I wish people would take responsibility.

The most surprising thing that ever happened to me is That I'm still doing what I do after 40 years.

I'm not a politician, but. . .My first action would be to come clean about mistakes . . . on issues like Iraq, and get our guys out of there. We have created a world where powers like the US and the UK have overstepped the boundaries and imposed our view of life and the world on other people. It is time we stepped back and showed our strength in humility.

The ideal night out is. . .Doing eight shows a week and doing them well.

I'm very bad at. . .Dancing. Aside from that, it's my being so self-consumed that I sometimes become thoughtless about others.

I'm good at. . .You can count on me. You can trust me.

In moments of weakness I. . .Hide. You can hide in lots of ways.

You know me as an actor and singer, but in a truer life I'd have been a. . .

Teacher of history and political science.

The best age to be is. . .Coping with whatever age you might be.

In a nutshell, my philosophy is this. . .The significance of our life is to be involved with someone else's.
