The Department of Education and Science is recruiting staff to head up a new behaviour support service. A recruitment drive started on Thursday to employ people to head up the teams that will help schools tackle disruptive behaviour in the classroom. The department is set to recruit a national co-ordinator and four assistant national co-ordinators.
The potential candidates will be experienced teachers at second level. There will be four regional teams in the National Behaviour Support Service. Last month, the Minister for Education and Science, Mary Hana"n TD, announced that new behaviour support teams would be in place for the start of the coming school year.
