Murdered agent buried in Belfast

MURDERED British agent Denis Donaldson was buried in west Belfast yesterday following a private family service, writes Northern Editor Suzanne Breen. Only a few dozen mourners attended the funeral. Donaldson (56) Sinn Fein's former Stormont administrator, was shot dead at a cottage outside Glenties, Co Donegal, on Tuesday.

Requiem mass was held at his home in Aitnamona Crescent, before his burial at the City Cemetery.

Mourners were led by his wife Alice and children Jane, Denis jnr, and Pearse. Donaldson was killed four months after it was disclosed he had been a British spy for over 20 years. Donaldson's family have said they don't believe the IRA was responsible for his murder.
