Teenage protester shot in Ecuador



A 17-YEAR-OLD boy was killed when he was shot in the back in Ecuador's southern city of Cuenca yesterday during a student protest against a proposed free trade deal with Washington.

The student was among dozens of demonstrators who clashed with police 192 miles south of Quito.

Some protesters hurled stones at authorities, who were firing tear gas.
