OPPONENTS of outgoing prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra have demanded that he resign immediately, calling for a royally-appointed government to be installed to bring about political reform.
The People's Alliance for Democracy made the demand three days after Thaksin agreed to give up the prime minister's job when a new government was formed, which is expected to be within a month. Thaksin announced he would step down following a general election last Sunday.
