AIB JUNIOR CUP FINAL RAINEY OLD BOYS 27 YOUGHAL 5 Lansdowne Road
RAINEY OLD BOYS won the AIB Junior Cup final by dominating Youghal. Wing Neil Seffin got the Ulster club off on the right foot with a clinical finish in the 18th minute.
Then prop Nathan Amos went over for two tries within as many minutes. Out-half Jerone McMurray converted the first and third tries and his first penalty for a 220 lead at the break.
It was more of the same thereafter, as Old Boys easily handled Youghal's limited approach around the fringes and they still had time to move the ball sweetly out of the tackle for player-coach John Andrews to barge over in the corner.
Replacement fly-half Mark Walsh did improve matters for Youghal and his interchange with scrum-half Joseph Lawlor opened a route to the line for substitute hooker Brendan Murray in the 57th minute.
