A GROUP of 15 young men attacked a Roma camp in southern Russia, beating inhabitants with metal bars and killing a man and a woman, a spokesman for Russia's interior ministry said yesterday.
Two other Gypsies from the camp in Volzhsky town in the Volgograd region - an 80-year-old woman and a 14-year-old girl - were gravely wounded in the attack and hospitalised, said the spokesman, Roman Shchekotin. Three men, aged 18-20, have been detained and face charges of racially motivated murder. Police are searching for the other attackers.
