BRIEF ENCOUNTER PAUL RANKIN, CELEBRITY CHEF

If I could be anyone for a day it would be. . .

George Best in his heyday! I could party on Friday night with Miss World and still be the best footballer in the world on Saturday afternoon.

No matter how hard I try, I will never be able to. . .

Organise my desk. It's totally beyond me.

The TV show I never tire of is... Strictly Come Dancing . . . no, just kidding. I'm a pretty basic bloke so it has to be Match of the Day. Settling myself down with a beer on a Saturday night . . . life don't get much better than this!

I am at my happiestf On a long weekend with Jeanne in some exciting cityf London, New York or Barcelona, discovering the city, the restaurants, bars and markets . . . I love it!

My biggest indulgence is. . .

Drinking fine wine.

The one CD I return to time and time again is. . .

Joni Mitchell . . . Hejira. I'm a pretty mellow guy really.

My holiday heaven isf A yoga retreat in Crete.

The one invention I can never live without is. . .

My espresso coffee pot. It gets a good twisting every morning.

If I could have one night with anyone, it would be. . .

I couldn't possibly say, Jeanne would kill me!
