YES, the first thing that comes to most minds when they hear false eyelashes is drag queen but I kid you not that when you choose the right ones, these can give you that doe-eyed appearance in a flash.
They come in many different forms and are all highly effective.
>> Individuals: these are in fact little bunches of three lashes attached together which you place along the your own lash line and you can apply as many or as few as you like, according to the look you're after.
Several make-up stands will do them for you for a nominal fee (the lovely ladies at Pout in Brown Thomas have done mine many times) or you can buy them in most good chemists now and do them yourself . . . but be warned, they are tricky to master.
>> Regular full strip false lashes: these are the original and most of you will be familiar with these whether you've ever tried them yourself or not.
They come in a range of different lengths, colours and effects.
My favourites are: Eyelure, for when you're on a budget;
Make-Up Forever, great quality and reusable several times as they are quite strong and will withstand cleaning;
Mac, a great range and some really dramatic ones but most of all because they do a range for fairer-haired people that actually look quite natural.
>> Eyelash extensions: where the false lash is literally glued to your own lash for a thick and full look. These are just gorgeous and obviously the most real looking but be warned . . . they come at a price . . . generally starting around the 120 mark.
Definitely something to consider for a special event such as your wedding or Oscar acceptance.
