I'VE always been a bit of a rule breaker when it comes to beauty commandments. But I do abide by the crucial ones . . . I almost always manage to wipe my face off before I turn in and I wouldn't dare leave the house without an SPF on, but when it comes to blusher and bronzer application, I get into a very slap happy mood.
You're generally only supposed to use bronzer on certain parts of your face such as across your forehead, down your nose and chin and just a sweep across your cheekbones . . . where the sun would tan your face naturally. But being close to blue I in colour, I use bronzers to warm up my whole face, neck and chest. In fact, any area I can reach with my brush!
There was a time when I used just any bronzer to do this but most of them have a little added shimmer, which of course completely gives the game away. If like me, you want to use it all over then go for a shimmer-free variety such as Hoola by Benefit, 33.50.
And if you prefer your bronzer in a cream variety, then you'll love Universal Bronzer by Chanel. It's pricy enough at 34 but believe me, a little goes a long way and it will last you until next summer.
If, of course, you're using it the way it was intended then the shimmer is perfect as this will highlight the areas you are using it on, particularly the cheekbones and, as I'm sure you'll agree, you can never have enough emphasis on these.
