AIB LEAGUE DIVISION ONE CORK CONSTITUTION 20 ST MARY'S COLLEGE 3
CORK CONSTITUTION sealed their place in the Division One Play-Offs as they overcame St Mary's in a rematch of the AIB Cup Final.
While they were deserving of victory, this was a far cry from the Cork side's vintage display in the final where they ran in six tries.
Jonathon Sexton opened the scoring with a penalty for the Dublin side after a scrappy opening to the game. Con' needed to look to their strong pack to make an impact and they managed to take the lead with a try from Des Murray which they held at the break.
Conor Quaid added a drop goal after the interval before Merle O'Connell powered his way over the line for a well deserved try after a fine individual display.
Richard Lane completed the scoring with a superb try and conversion.
The Cork side will need to make major improvements on this performance before the play-offs come around where they will more than likely face an away tie.
