Afridi absent for opening Ireland game
CRICKET NEWS



The Irish Cricket Union has confirmed that Shahid Afridi will not be available for their opening tie in the C&G Trophy against holders Hampshire today. Having spent the last number of days in Abu Dhabi with Pakistan he was forced to fly home due to the ill-health of his daughter. However, Afridi has confirmed that he will still play seven matches for Ireland in the tournament, as he was contracted to initially. He will, therefore, play an extra game later in the tournament.
