Pocket pout
THOSE who think that the notion of a 'cult' make-up product is ridiculous just don't know what they're on about. They have never seen the black circles around their eyes magically disappear with a little YSL Touche Eclat and they've never gone from raddled to radiant, courtesy of Mac's Studio Fix pressed powder. Lancome's Juicy Tubes fall under this miracle-worker category, with one sold every minute in the UK alone. What's not to like about a non sticky gloss that gives you the most gorgeous, shiny pout? The latest addition to the Juicy range is the Juicy Gelee, which are unspeakably cute little pots of gloss in seven bright shades, complete with mini portable lip brush, prices 18.50.
Don't mess with Missy
WHEN Missy Elliott says jump, only the bravest won't ask how high. This summer, you will be respecting Missy by wearing her new fashion collection called, fittingly enough, Respect ME.
A definite cut above a lot of sportswear around, this is armour for the young urban female featuring a complete line of adidas Originals sneakers, tops, jackets, headwear and bags, all bearing the unmistakable hallmark of ME.
She's describing it as an "urban safari meets Miami Beach".
We say "whatever you want, Missy".
Cheap chic
FASHION gurus always recommend that you invest in classic items of clothes and update them each season with key accessories. It's a lovely idea, but where's the giddy consumer pleasure in that? Give us a hundred disposable trendy outfits over a single Chloe dress any time. If you're of the same mindset, have a look at the new Savida collection at Dunnes Stores, which is getting it right with many of this season's hottest trends, from white broderie anglaise dresses to skinny jeans, stripy jackets and oversized sunglasses. Its great neutral mac, pictured here, will get you through this sartorially challenging time of year . . . it's still a bit nippy but we will not be defeated by Irish weather, dammit . . . and at the price ( 60) you can go mad and buy two.
Snappy sandwich
AN hour for lunch (and that's assuming you even take that long) isn't a lot of time in which to pop to the bank, read up on Britney Spears' latest marital woes and email your mates. Heaven forbid that you'd actually try and squeeze in some lunch between all these necessary but time-consuming tasks. Sandwich company Munchies realises that life is too short to queue in a sandwich bar, which is why it's launching an online service on Wednesday, specific to its individual shops on South William Street, East Point and the IFSC. You can pay for it online, and either get it delivered or pick it up from the shop. The grub . . . like mum used to make . . . is actually worth queuing for, but reading trashy magazines during your lunchbreak is possibly a bit more fun.
