The EU has said it would suspend negotiating a trade and aid deal with Serbia if Belgrade does not meet an end-of-month deadline to catch and extradite war crimes fugitive General Ratko Mladic to the UN war crimes tribunal, EU Commissioner Olli Rehn said yesterday, after meeting Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Draskovic.
He said a formal decision will be taken after consultations with chief UN prosecutor Carla del Ponte on Wednesday.
Serbian justice minister Zoran Stojkovic said the authorities were working intensely to locate Mladic.
