AIB LEAGUE DIVISION ONE CORK CONSTITUTION 33 DUBLIN UNIVERSITY 21
CORK CONSTITUTION will face Clontarf in the AIL Division One semi-final after their hard-fought win over a gallant Trinity side at Temple Hill yesterday.
On a perfect day for rugby Cork Con were far too fast and too mobile for their student opponents who have been relegated to Division Two following this loss.
The home side led 21-14 at the break thanks to a converted try by Conor Quaid in the first minute, a second by Tom Gleeson in the 29th minute and a third right on the stroke of half-time by Darragh Lyons, all which were converted by Richie Lane.
For the visitors Matt Crockett's two tries in the first half kept them in touch.
Cork Constitution started the second half the better and a try by Shane Cotterill in the 44th minute left Con ahead by 12 points and ended effectively the game as a contest.
Trinity continued to battle and were rewarded for their commitment with a Marc Warburton try in the 57th minute.
Cork Con though came good again and ended the game on a high when Ed Leamy ran in for a converted try to see the home side end their regular season campaign with an emphatic victory .
