A NEW phase of 50 apartments and duplexes went on the market this weekend at Prospect Hill in Dublin 11, just two and a half miles from the city centre.
On a large site on Tolka Valley Road, Prospect Hill is midway between Glasnevin and Finglas villages. When completed, this 150m development will comprise around 500 contemporary apartments and houses, along with a retail area and the recently opened McEniff Ardmore Hotel adjoining the development.
The current phase sees the release of one- and two-bed units, with houses available at a later stage.
Nearby facilities within walking distance include the Botanic Gardens and Tolka Valley Park, while the M50 and Dublin Airport are both a short drive away.
Designed by architects Anthony Reddy Associates, apartment blocks are laid out on several stepped levels, forming a civic square with retail units and a doctor's surgery and creche.
Landscape architects Brady Shipman Martin have designed the landscaping to include a water feature, timber decking and planted areas.
According to the architects, the design of the apartments at Prospect Hill have been influenced by the 20th century designer Le Corbusier. Apartments have been arranged in a cross-over type style that allows for living and sleeping accommodation to face in opposite directions, resulting in most units having dual aspect. Floor-to-ceiling sliding windows opening out to good-sized balconies also provide lots of light to living areas, and all apartments are pre-wired for Smart Vision, allowing for broadband, a state-of-the-art fibre optic network with 70 TV channels, and two mbs of internet connectivity.
On offer in this phase are a range of one- and two-bed apartments and two-bed duplexes. One-bed apartments range in size from 40 to 45sq m (430 to 480sq ft), while two-bed apartments and duplexes average 74sq m (790sq ft).
Price: one-bed apartments from 260,000, two-bed apartments and duplexes from 330,000 Agent: Hooke & MacDonald 01-6318402
