Teenage baseball fan electrocuted
A 14-YEAR-OLD girl has been electrocuted in a Maryland park after she leaned on a fence before a baseball game.
A sagging power line touched the fence, said Kevin Cartwright of the local fire department.
People saw the girl put her foot on the fence in Druid Hill Park and then fall to the ground, he said.
The girl was taken to Sinai Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Fresh bird flu outbreak in China
THE Chinese government yesterday reported an outbreak of avian influenza in western China after 125 wild birds were found dead. Samples sent to a government laboratory confirmed Wednesday the birds were infected with the bird flu virus, H5N1, the statement said.

Three tons of drugs seized in Pakistan
FORCES have seized nearly three tons of opium and morphine after a gun battle with traffickers in Pakistan near the Afghan border. Three suspects carrying assault rifles were arrested in the raid on Friday night in Brahamcha, a village in Chagai district, 170 miles south-west of Quetta.
