Mourne mountain views

NORTHERN builders O'Hare & McGovern have just released a new phase of Cuchulainn Heights, their latest residential scheme in Carlingford, Co Louth.

In Carlingford village, this scheme comprises a mix of three-bed duplexes, townhouses and semi-detached homes. In a lovely setting, the development has views over Carlingford Lough, the Cooley Mountains and the Mourne Mountains.

A medieval town which is home to the ruins of St John's Castle, Carlingford is a popular tourist spot with plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants. The town looks across the lough to Warrenpoint and Newry, both a short drive away, while the new M1 motorway has also shortened the journey time to Dundalk and Dublin.

Designed by architects Newenham Mulligan & Associates, this is a contemporary scheme, although homes have been finished in traditional materials such as natural stone and cedar cladding.

Three-bed townhouses have a floor area of 88 square metres (950 square feet), while three-bed semis are larger at around 107 square metres (1150 square feet), and three-bed duplex apartments are a spacious 115 square metres (1238 square feet).

Apartments have cedar cladding and houses have natural stone facades. All homes come with either dark walnut kitchens with white worktops or dark cherry kitchens.

All homes have gas-fired central heating and wall-mounted fireplaces equipped for gas.

Other standard features include hardwood windows and fitted security alarm.

Houses have brick-paved driveways, while apartments come with tiled balconies.

Price: three-bed townhouses from 320,000; three-bed semis from 370,000; three-bed duplexes from 370,000.

Agent: Sherry FitzGerald Carroll (042-9332173)
