THISweekend sees the launch of a new phase of apartments at The Green, the popular residential scheme in Clonard Village, close to Wexford Town.
Since being launched about 18 months ago, 215 traditionalstyle houses have sold here, and when complete there will be 300 units on-site. But while previous phases proved popular with young families looking for decent-sized houses with gardens, the current phase is aimed at the firsttime buyer market, with 25 two- and three-bed apartments on offer. Prices start at 197,500.
Just off the N11 on the Duncannon Road, The Green is beside the new Clonard Retail Park and a few minutes drive from Wexford centre. Developed by Cleary Doyle, whose recent new schemes include Clonattin Village in Gorey, Courtown Harbour and Avoca Wood, The Green is laid out in several cul de sacs and courtyards, with most homes having access to open green areas.
Apart from its proximity to Wexford, a big selling factor is the new on-site village centre due to be open by next summer. The village centre will comprise 1150 square metres of office accommodation, along with a supermarket, restaurant, take-away, creche, medical centre, pharmacy and 17 neighbourhood shops. And nearby Wexford has a good selection of shops, restaurants, businesses, a train station and an arts centre.
Two-bed apartments range from 66 to 79 square metres (710 to 840 square feet), while three-beds average 85 square metres (910 square feet).
Standard features in all units include fitted kitchens with wall tiling, built-in wardrobes in bedrooms, wall tiling in bathrooms, and all living areas opening out to goodsized balconies.
Price: two-bed apartments from 197,500; three-bed apartments from 225,000.
