TURKISH Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan opened a court case against an 82-year-old man who allegedly insulted him in a letter, the Anatolia news agency reported yesterday.
The letter was placed in a visitor's book at the house once belonging to Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of the secular Turkish republic, and accused Erdogan and his Islamist-leaning party of trying to overturn the secular republic and replace it with one ruled by Islamic laws.
