National Recruitment Federation Annual Golf Outing 2006

Thunder and lightening, hailstones and torrential rain. . . the conditions couldn't have been less favourable (nor expected in the month of May) for the National Recruitment Federation Annual Golf Outing 2006 (with thanks to Charterhouse Ireland Ltd). However that didn't deter the 50 golfers from NRF member agency teams from proving their worth in a bid to sample the delights of the exclusive new PGA National Ireland course at Palmerstown House last Tuesday, 23rd May.

Set to become one of the greatest golf courses on the European and Irish golfing maps, PGA National Ireland at Palmerstown House, (the only course which will be entitled with the PGA name) has already been hailed as a 'legend' on the scene. Lying amongst the spectacular surrounds of the once world famous stud farm and historical house, the golf course is set amongst a myriad of mature trees, impressive and clever bunkering and an exquisite use of water - Palmerstown House is truly a golfer's paradise and could quite possibly have become a golfer's nightmare given the weather on Tuesday but with some of the most seasoned golfers present they were prepared to battle the elements and savour the luxury of the game!

For the winning teams the thrill of the challenge was all the sweeter with the winning team accolade going to NRF President Frank Collins' Parc Recruitment Ltd team comprising (Peter Keenan, Tony Meagher, Simon Kennedy and Frank himself). Second prize winners were the team from O'Neill and Brennan Ltd (Colm Costello, Paddy Bennett, Rob Murray and John Gavigan) with the latter also taking home the prize for the longest drive and finally third prize went to the team from O'Reilly Recruitment Ltd (David O'Reilly, David Garvin, Matt Milling and Alan Nolan).

Following the prize-giving the troupes enjoyed a sumptuous buffet and a wellearned drink as they plotted to tackle the 18 holes once again when the Summer, which has so far eluded us, decides to make its debut this year!

The NRF Golf Outing is just one in a number of key events for the National Recruitment Federation Calendar of Events having already enjoyed yet another highly successful Annual Conference which took place in Citywest Hotel last month and with a Series of Breakfast Briefings starting this week and continuing throughout the country for the rest of the year. The Federation's black tie Annual Dinner will take place in The Berkley Court Hotel on Friday, 20th October amongst other key events.

Add to that the promotion and organisation of the CIETT World Employment Conference, (which will be hosted by the NRF and takes place in Dublin in 2007 attracting some 350 recruiters from throughout the world) along with NRF Annual Recruitment Industry Survey and the launch of a brand new website and you can be sure to be hearing a lot from the NRF in the near future!
