THEYmay not all have been at the same table, but Bono, Mary Robinson, Charlie Haughey and the late Oliver Reid have all dined at McGrattan's restaurant in their time.
For the past 30 years, Dan McGrattan's premises at No 76 Fitzwilliam Lane, adjacent to Government Buildings and the Merrion Hotel in Dublin 2, has entertained politicians, presidents, pop stars and poseurs alike.
Now for sale by public tender on 15 June 2006, the reserve has not been disclosed on the 696sq m (7,500sq ft) premises, but is likely to reach 5m, say selling agents CB Richard Ellis.
The property has recently undergone a major refurbishment programme and subsequently commenced trading as Wilde's Bar & Bosey's Bistro. There is a lounge bar at ground floor and a separate entrance to a fine dining restaurant seating 100 on the first floor.
Selling agent John Hughes, CBRE, confirmed that McGrattan's was being offered for sale following the decision of Dan McGrattan to retire from the restaurant and bar trade.
