We're off for a new season!

St Mary's VENUE MANAGER: ORLA HAYDE The rain stayed away which made for a great turnout. The atmosphere was electric as the teams prepared to play their first games. The first round saw 26-6 win for the Social A team The Beauties and The Beasts against Tag Busters.

The all-girls team R&T in the Beginners Social League had a close match against Naturally Tagtastic but lost 15-12. Social B team Los Rojos had a landslide victory against The Special Ones of 41-5, while the Beginners team San Jose Pints proved a point by beating the Sisk & Sinners 24-5. The Fear narrowly beat Meteorites 10-9 and the Panel Beaters won 29-8 against The Eamon Walshe Fan Club, rounding off a very successful evening.

St Mary's VENUE MANAGER: SIMON EDGECOMBEWould someone tell the weatherman it's Summer already! ! ! I was sitting in my car watching eager St Mary tag players show up and the heavens opened. But the rain stopped and we saw some excellent early season form.

Niall and his Crouching Tagger, Hidden Naggin team proved moving up from last years C league is no problem with a 23-10 win over Mercernaries. The Womens league will be closely contested this year with Puma Chicks, George's and Mary's Hookers and Sutton Sistas notching up round one victories. Crouching Taggers are the early leaders in the Social Beginners league. Lets hope for better weather next week St Andrew's VENUE MANAGER: CIARAN DUGGAN Tuesday night had it all; wins, losses, rain, sunshine and cricket.

In Round One, there was a good performance from Clodagh Grealy who scored a great try for KPMG Dolly Mixture. Where Eagles Dare responded with a try by Keith Nugent. KPMG won 15-12. ME Hanahoe Solicitors beat Carnage Crusaders 12-5 with an awesome try from Amy Williams. In Round Two, Lebowski Johnson's fought back against ACN Brumbies with a try from Dave Warnock. ButBrumbies won 16 -3. Round Three saw the lead going back and forth between HB Horndogs and BOI Tigers. It ended in a draw 14 all. Try of the night was by Gareth Hughes of the Lebowski Johnsons.

Terenure VENUE MANAGER: ANN GERAGHTY Oh my God, it's the Ross O'Caroll Kelly of Tag Rugby The Handsome Boy Modeling School! Rory Rigney, played a super game, but he should go back to school - modeling doesn't suit him . . . I wonder does Tag? ! The team still had a good win, beating CIT Taggers by 16-11. The first try of the season was good old Dino, helping Red Rage to beat 14 Left Feet - who lived up to their name - 18-11. What did Michelle O'Callaghan (Ericsson 2) have for breakfast - lots of Volvic? - three in a 17-15 win against The Big Lebowskis.

And will the captain of Tit for Tag (name withheld) be captain next week? He forgot the ITRA tag shorts for his teams mates so DRP's got 10 points for doing nothing! ! !

Templeogue VENUE MANAGER: MARIE CLAIRE TUITE And so it begins! Templeogue College on Monday night, is the only place to be. Men's Super League tag rugby has its inaugural summer session, and what a session! Forty teams competing, and with an average of 10 players per team, that equals a lot of testosterone! The Glorious Blues lived up to their name, achieving a great 21-4 win over the Canary Yellow Muppets. The Tagnuts popped some of The Blisters' hopes with a 14-8 score line, and in what must have been one of the most spectacular moves of the night, Aidan O'Brien helped the Rusty Wings achieve their victory over The Drop Knee Teapots by tagging an opponent millimetres from the try line. It was a great night not only the players, but me too!

Malone VENUE MANAGER: CLAIRE MCATEER ITRA Tag Rugby in Ulster has once again expanded. At last a change in the weather with the sun shining - let's hope it continues! The evening started as competitive as it finished last year with some teams out for revenge.

Clearly Belfast Harlequins heard about Hinchs unbeaten record last season and thought they would let them start this season as they finished last and didn't show up! The derby between the Lions and Exiles of Lisburn was hotly contested - the Lions won by a single point. "Fatter Boys and NO Slim" - you're getting bigger every year. Despite their increased body weights, the team managed to run out winners against the Belfast Bulls. Well done to all those that hadn't played before.

Wesley VENUE MANAGER: ORLA CASSIDY Simply Fantastag met their match with The TKO Aristocrats in a draw. The Hasselhoffs were beaten 18-9 (due to three good girl tries) by the CIT Tiggers. The B league game in Round Two between Tag Supremacy and Superfly saw Laura scoring a girl try in the first few minutes - it was still a draw. Desperate to Score have their girls to thank for their 19-2 win over The Jammy Dodgers and the Dolls from Guys and Dolls also put up a good show giving the Guys and Dolls a 21-7 win over Puca Warriors in the C1 grade. The Wanna B's made a really good shot at beating The Crow's (Feet) but with no subs The Crow's (Feet) won 13-20. The Girls from The Lone Rangers didn't stand a chance against Wayside 3 in social C1 league.

Malone VENUE MANAGER: BRIAN LYLE A great first night with great weather saw four tight games in the Men's Open with wins for Dungannon, Possibles, Langer and Brazil . . . Langer put in a super performance to overcome The Maulers, last years All Ireland Winners. There were three wins and a draw in the Social A Grade. The three newly promoted teams all lost, while the Druths recorded a good draw against last years runners up, Randy Lovers.

The Tax Inspectors, BT and Gavin's TeleTubbies registered wins in Grade B, while last years undefeated C winners Lurgan Lions recorded their first ever defeat to the reinvented BRC. In Social C, the Techno Tags, Deliotte and It Aint Half Crap Mom obtained rare victories and Stade NIE had an easy win against Barrys Physios team.

Terenure VENUE MANAGER CATHRINA O'DONOGHUE Well the Vets league got off to a flying start this season in its new home in Terenure. There were some nail biting clashes to be seen, none more so than the seven- all draw between the Stalevo Stallions and the Wanderly Wagons. Well done to both teams for putting on a great display for all who were watching from the sidelines. Also we had the Mixed Social League with some interesting new team names, such as Wally Wobbly Wonders (best ask them what it's all about) and The Transformers. All the teams played great tonight and I hope everybody had fun. Looking forward to seeing you all next week.

Templogue VENUE MANAGER: SHANE BARRETT AND TINA TYSON Safoni Aventis and Jezzabels 2 threw down early season markers, both winning and scoring 14 tries a piece. Wyeth Warriors and Incredible Hookers proved to be a tight match with Wyeth Warriors eventually winning 14-10. Great credit must go to the Hookie Monsters defence who held Lisney Tag scoreless while running in 7 points of their own. Studs and Babes Wanderers and Lilyblues all managed to run in scores in the double figures to secure their places in the top half of the table.

Knockers ran Lily Blues to just one point as they came short on a score of 11-10. Rockin Roberts and No Hopers were convincing winners. Rampant Rams and McCormick's Agents 2 played out an exciting 1313 draw. Spear Tacklers looked impressive scoring 18 points in their win over Mercury Rising. Bearing Point All Blacks, Team BMS and the DeEnginisers all recorded solid wins. In the Beginners Grade, ACN Stormers, LHM Casey McGrath and Standard Life all recorded scores in the 20s to run away to emphatic victories. Colgate Total Legends and the Dirty Rookers played out a close match with Colgate eventually winning by one point.

Terenure VENUE MANAGER: CATHRINA O'DONOGHUEYet again it was a night for great d isp lays of athlet ic ability on the tag pitches with some brilliant matches being played. The Tag Wheures and Team Old School were going at it like their lives depended on it but it was the Tag Wheures who won 15-12 . Thursday also saw the return of some old friends and a few new faces to the Mixed Social league. As the saying goes "Strangers are just friends you have yet to make" and this was never more true. All were in high spirits as the games started and remained so in the bar later. I was beginning to wonder if they had any homes to go to at one stage! But it was great to see everyone mixing - players and refs alike. Keep it up!

Athlone VENUE MANAGER: DAMIAN NEVIN There were understandab ly a few first night nerves for the first night of ITRA Tag Rugby in Athlone but congratulations to all the players, especially those who hadn't played before. A special mention goes to Aisling Horan of The Dixie Chicks who scored two tries last night to help her team to a close win over Pick n Mix. And Mary Kiernan of the Handy Hookers who scored a whopping 15 out of the 17 points scored for her teams triumph over Office Line Backers.

Cork Con VENUE MANAGER: INGRID O'SHEAWith the heavy rain of Wednesday threatening all day, it looked like the night would be a washout . Thankfully the Gods of ITRA Tag Rugby were looking down on us and apart from a few spits at the start, we were blessed with a dry warm evening. It was an exciting beginning to the first season in Cork Con. Spin City (with a fantastic 27 point win), the Tagnificent Seven, Pfizer Pfanthers and Team ACD were all victorious in Grade B. In the C grade with Live and Let Try, the IncredApples, Pfizer Tigers and the Vandals came out on top in C1 - Aoife Lambe of the Vandals provided us with a spectacular try. The Rollin' MOLAs, the Buggy Rats, and LTL came out on top in C2 but the Boston Bullets had to settle for a draw against the Rocka Fallers.
